Elaine Nichols
Restoration Project Manager
Elaine Nichols managed the restoration program for Friends. She has experience in habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, environmental education and community science. Elaine has worked on restoration projects with Friends since 2017. Previous to working with Friends she worked multiple seasons for the Coconino National Forest in the Wild and Scenic Fossil Creek. She also served two 1700 hours AmeriCorps terms, leading community projects in trail construction, invasive species removal, and fire mitigation. Elaine earned her Masters in Environmental Management from Western Colorado University with a focus on integrated public land management and her B.S. in Environmental Science from University at Buffalo.
Elaine enjoys hiking, kayaking, playing ukulele and playing in nature with her son.
