Cynthia Butler
Field Technician
Cynthia is our Field Technician who works with the Water Quality Monitoring community science volunteers. They work together with the Arizona Department of Environmental Equality by collecting water samples along the Verde River and its tributaries to assess biological and chemical changes that contribute to water pollution. This work will help guide better land management practices within the Verde River Watershed. Cynthia earned a B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability Studies from Northern Arizona University as well as a B.A. in Painting and Drawing from California Colleges of the Arts. In her last years of school at NAU, she focused on watershed restoration and botany with a particular interest in native plants of Arizona and the Southwest.
Cynthia enjoys working with native plants, plant I.D., propagation, and ethnobotany.
