Maya Rappaport joins Friends after working as a riparian bird biologist in Maine, New Hampshire, Utah, Colorado, and Montana. She studied ecology and wildlife biology as an undergraduate at College of the Atlantic in Maine. She is currently a master’s student at NAU, studying science communication and sustainable communities. In addition to her work in ecology, Maya is a classical musician and visual artist. In January 2019, she founded the Flagstaff Kestrel Project, which seeks to understand the intersections between conservation and community organization.
