Mark your calendars for one of our community’s biggest and most beloved events—Verde River Day! On Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9 AM–3 PM, join us at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood for a full day of fun, learning, and celebration of our beautiful Verde River. Admission is completely free, so bring your family, your neighbors, and your friends to enjoy this special day.
Every year, more than 4,000 people from near and far come together for Verde River Day. You’ll find nonprofit exhibitors sharing their work in conservation, natural resources, and environmental education, plus exciting family activities, food, and entertainment. The exhibit area will be set up between lagoons 2 and 3, a beautiful spot to relax and learn more about how we can all care for this incredible river.
The heart of Verde River Day is about celebrating our community’s connection to the Verde River and reminding us why it’s so important to protect this life-giving treasure. It’s a chance for you and your family to enjoy the outdoors, meet inspiring organizations, and take part in fun activities that highlight how the river supports both people and wildlife.
Come out, explore, and celebrate with us at Verde River Day—you won’t want to miss this unforgettable community tradition!
