Get Involved
Join us for Arizona Gives Day, April 1, 2025 as we come together to protect the Verde River, a vital resource for our environment and our way of life. We’re aiming to raise $40,000 to support key initiatives that care for the river, educate others, and promote sustainability. Every donation counts, and together, we can make a lasting impact on the health of the Verde River.
Early Giving Has Begun
Early giving has officially started! Your generous support will contribute to a variety of projects dedicated to preserving the Verde River, including:
- Children’s Book – Becoming an Otter Spotter: This beautifully illustrated book invites children to explore the wonders of the Verde River and teaches them how to become stewards of the river by understanding the role of otters in the ecosystem.
- Veterans Focus – Removal of Invasive Species: Your donations will help fund the removal of invasive species along the riverbanks, with the help of Verde Earth Technologies, a veteran-owned company.
- BioBlitz for 5th Graders: Through this hands-on program, 5th-grade students become “citizen scientists,” exploring the Verde River’s biodiversity and learning the importance of preserving ecosystems.
- River Stewardship: Promoting community-driven conservation efforts, this campaign encourages local action to protect the Verde River for future generations.
- Water Quality Monitoring and Sustainability Efforts: Equip citizen scientists with the tools they need to monitor and maintain the river’s water quality, ensuring a sustainable future for the Verde River.
- Historical Photographical Project: Digitizing over 1,000 historical photographs of the Verde River from the 1970s and 1990s to preserve the river’s rich past and make it accessible for educational and historical purposes.
- Trail Signage Repair: Donations help repair and enhance trail signage along the Verde River, ensuring that visitors can safely enjoy the area while learning about the importance of protecting the river’s fragile ecosystem.
- Listening to the Verde Podcasts: Raising awareness about the Verde River’s vital role in sustaining local communities, these podcasts share stories, expert insights, and updates about conservation efforts along the river.
- River Friendly Living Program: Supporting individuals and businesses that implement conservation practices, this program helps fund projects that promote river-friendly practices at home, in businesses, and in the community.
Your support makes all of this possible. Help us reach our $40,000 goal and ensure that the Verde River remains a vibrant resource for our community and the wildlife that depends on it.
