Verde River Runoff

Run the Verde River, or join the paddle from ANY water body! Paddle the Verde River, or any body of water, anywhere in the world!

In September 2020, Friends hosted our first Virtual Verde River Runoff, where we connected with paddlers from across the country. Participants enjoyed the added push to get out on their favorite body of water and support the Verde River. We received many photos from all over the country, and this has inspired us to hold a photo contest for 2021! Send us your photos of your paddle; show us your adventures, share your stories, and tell us about the animals you were able to see and the habitats you experienced. 

Participate in our photo contest, and you could win new and exclusive “Purdy Verde” prizes.  All donations will go toward supporting Friends of the Verde’s mission to sustain healthy river flows, restoring habitats and promoting community stewardship.

Paddle any distance, on any body of water in the world! $10 to register.

All registrants will be entered to win a prize package of new, exclusive “Purdy Verde” merchandise.

Snap a selfie on the water, take a few landscape pics, or photograph wildlife on the water body you paddle. Whatever you find beautiful on your paddle, we’d love to see as well! Share photos from your Verde River Runoff paddle, and the photo that we love the most will receive:

We hope you will enjoy a beautiful, fun, and safe paddle during this year’s Verde River Runoff.

Please wear appropriate safety gear on the water, follow all local ordinances and COVID safety protocols, know your limits on the water, and check your maps before you go! Paddle with a buddy if you can. Please also check the rate of flow if you plan to paddle moving water, and be sure to confirm that flow conditions are safe to navigate.
