September 7 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Savannah Grasslands — An Important Element of the Verde River Watershed
Savannah Safaris: Field Trips into semi-desert grasslands of the Verde Valley.
Drive in a van through the Savanna between Sedona and Cottonwood and learn from a guide about the area’s watershed function and role in keeping the Verde River flowing year round. See the riparian vegetation along the dry washes of seasonal and ephemeral creeks, important habitat for plants and wildlife adapted to intermittent availability of water. The semi-desert grasslands are an integral part of our world-famous Red Rock landscape. The Field Trip will be offered September 7, 9 AM – 1 PM, free of charge. Please register for the Safari at the Water|Ways Exhibit in Camp Verde., or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
